The Sunset Series Dawn HSS: Satisfying Playability
One of the best features of the Fazley Dawn HSS is the roasted maple used for the neck and fretboard. This type of maple is extra stable since all of the moisture has been removed via a special heating process. The guitar also has a special 'oblique' contouring on the back of the body to grant full access to all twenty-two medium frets while, to round out the satisfying playing comfort, Fazley have opted for a trusty C-profile neck carve and a smooth satin-gloss finish.

Striking looks and a surprisingly refined finish for a brand‑new £50 guitar (sale price). The roasted maple neck feels solid and is firmly attached to the body—unlike some of my other guitars that suffer from “tremolo neck.” The action was a touch high but was easy to sort out. Frets are tidy with no choking anywhere.
Admittedly, the pickups, tuners, and bridge aren’t the standout features here, but the overall build is solid and the guitar looks genuinely lovely.
When I first started playing in 1982, finding a guitar for £50 would have been a steal. Forty‑four years on, this one absolutely is.

so far i am extremely impressed with this. a friend had bought a Fazley a few years ago and upgraded pickup and tuners, but I. m. o it is still absolutely crap. This one however, so far at least, is absolutely excellent. I haven't even changed he'd the strings it cleaned it up yet, but it's staying in tune and playing very well. even using the trem. excellent action and intonation is also very close to spot on. it was £48 on sale, so I took a chance. it also looks fantastic. if I had a chance to have played it loud through an amp it may well have been 5 stars. so we shall find out soon🤘

Guitar arrived today, 3-4 days shipping over the holiday period, outstanding achievement to get it here.
While not a guitar expert, having played on the guitar the sound is excellent, the fretboard feels excellent and the sound exquisite. Really impressed by the guitar and a must buy if you're looking a new guitar for the collection or starting off.

I forgot to mention in my initial review below.
The 2 single coil pickups weigh in at a very low 4.8K each. A standard S-style pickup would be the usually be around 5.6k to 6.5K, maybe it's just the guitar I received.
Still decent as a mod platform to upgrade.

A good guitar for the price. The string action and intonation will need adjustment. The fretwork impressed me with no buzzes, this might change once string radius and height is adjusted.
One thing that I noticed is, position 2 and 4 isn't hum cancelling, in fact, it hums more in these positions. It appears the 2 single coils have the same polarity.
Better electronics and a bigger tremolo block (the current one is the smallest I’ve encountered) would improve this guitar. Oh, and the scratch-plate, knobs and pickup colours ought to be the same not different, who makes these choices?

Incredible value for money. The only issue I found (and now I am super meticulous) is that the groves in the upper saddle could be a little deeper, but that's it. Very well balanced & perfect intonation right out of the box. I had not hesitated on bringing it to a gig right from the box.

Voor deze prijs had ik niet zo' n goed instrument verwacht. Ik heb de twee enkelspoels elementen wel moeten vervangen door Texas-style pickups (van AliExpress). Nu heb ik een fantastische gitaar voor nog geen €100. Deze gitaar heeft, zonder te overdrijven, de beste hals waar ik ooit op heb gespeeld! Ligt heerlijk in de hand en is perfect afgewerkt. De rest van de gitaar is ook zeer goed afgewerkt. Goede stemmechanieken, goed gemaakte topkam, goede electronica, goede finish. Ik was van plan ook de tremolo te vervangen, maar die bleek een volwaardig zwaar blok te hebben!
De gitaar was voor mijn zoon bedoeld, maar ik denk dat hij het met mijn gitaar zal moeten doen, die hij nu in bruikleen heeft..
