The Yamaha Pacifica 112J II promises any ambitious beginner a running start. This electric guitar boasts an extremely solid build given its cost and has a flexible load-out in terms of electronics. In fact, the humbucker bridge pickup teams up with two single-coils to cover both vintage sounds and the richer sounds needed for louder styles.

The Pacifica 112J II: Excellent Playability

Since the right wood goes a long way when building a great guitar, Yamaha haven't skimped but have opted for a comfortable alder body combined with a bolt-on maple neck and a dark walnut fretboard. The result is a rich and tight foundation sound and a balanced mix of trebles, mids and basses. The neck also features a slim profile so will feel snug in the hands of most fresh-faced players, and the guitar even comes polished off with a vintage-style tremolo bridge for adding subtle vibratos. Meanwhile, six trusty machine heads keep the tuning from being thrown out of whack.

Versatile HSS Pickup Configuration

The Pacifica 112J II has an HSS pickup configuration which means it's equipped with a humbucker in the bridge position, a single-coil pickup in the middle position and another single-coil in the neck position. Here, the humbucker shapes a more robust sound fit for styles like blues and rock, while the single-coils tighten things up a bit, making them perfect for styles that demand a clearer sound. As such, this ST-style Yamaha electric guitar supports a wide range of styles and guitarists alike. Tweak the volume pot, the tone control and the five-way pickup switch and it won't be long before you find a sound to fall in love with.

Yamaha Pacifica 112J II Lake Placid Blue Electric Guitar

Deze gitaar is perfect voor beginners die niet te veel geld willen uitgeven, maar toch een mooi product willen. Wel een beetje jammer dat er geen locking tuners zijn, ook al zijn de tuners die erop zitten zeker niet slecht. Als je per se locking tuners wil kan je deze tuurlijk apart kopen. Vooral de afwerking is perfect. De kleur is iets lichter en subtieler in het echt, maar dit vind ik eigenlijk nog mooier.
