While it packs virtually identical looks, the Yamaha Pacifica 112V still manages to clearly distinguish itself from the Pacifica 112J. For starters, the pickguard takes a slightly different shape, the volume knobs are chrome-plated and the tone knob is equipped with a push-pull switch so that you can split the humbucker at the bridge for shimmering single-coil sound. To shape a tight, vintage tone, all three pickups feature Alnico V magnets.

Characteristics of the Yamaha Pacifica 112V

The body of the Pacifica 112V is made of solid alder, a type of wood that's popularly used to build electric guitars because of its light weight and rich, balanced sound character. The high mids are slightly more outspoken, giving the guitar a sound that sings out above the rest. The 22-fret bolt-on neck is fashioned from maple and features a rosewood fretboard with a thin profile and a flatter 13.75-inch radius for optimal playing comfort.

Tremolo Bridge and Ring-Mounted Humbucker

The bridge of the Yamaha Pacifica 112V is a vintage-style tremolo, meaning you can use the included handle to move the bridge in such a way that it tightens and releases the strings to create delicious vibrato effects. The solid saddles ensures a rich sustain and deep intonation, and just like the high-end Pacifica models, there is a bridge pickup mounted on the body via a black mounting ring. This way, more vibrations from the body can be captured to give you enhanced tonal dynamics compared to a pickup installed in a scratchplate.
