If you are looking for an affordable first drum kit on which to practise the basics at home, definitely consider the Fazley DDK-040. This competitively priced drum kit is fully complete and features mesh heads. A drum kit with mesh heads is pretty special in this price range. Mesh heads have two main advantages over rubber pads. They are less disturbing to housemates or neighbours because the ticking sounds much less loud. In addition, the playing feel is much more realistic and closer to playing on an acoustic drum kit. The drum kit is completely complete, except for a drum stool.

As mentioned, the drum pads are fitted with mesh sheets and have a diameter of 6 inches. This means the drum pads are perhaps a bit on the small side, but this of course makes the drum kit much more compact and takes up less space in the bedroom or attic. What's more, even on an acoustic drum kit, you mainly play in the middle of the drums. So effectively, the playing space is definitely not smaller and the 6-inch pads will actually improve your coordination. The snare pad is a dual zone drum pad and the three cymbal pads are single zone drum pads. The cymbal pads have a 10-inch diameter. The crash and ride have a choke function. And finally, the module: this is one with no fuss. The module is incredibly easy to operate and contains 12 fine-sounding drum sets with a total of 144 different sounds. Een prima betaalbaar beginnersdrumstel met ook nog eens een goede gratis online beginnerscursus én drumstokken erbij. Het drumstel is in hoogte af te stellen en de pads zijn vrij stil. Daarnaast maken de labels op de kabels en drums het installeren een stuk makkelijker en past het drumstel prima op zolder.

Hoewel begrijpelijk vanwege de lage prijs, is het jammer dat de module geen bluetooth ondersteunt, aangezien moderne smartphones geen aux poort meer hebben. Tip: kijk of je nog ergens een oude telefoon hebt liggen die je ervoor kan gebruiken en bestel er eventueel een telefoonhouder bij.

Verder is de handleiding nogal onduidelijk en miste de helft van de cable management klittenbandjes. Ook was de bijgeleverde vleugelmoer om het drumstel te monteren behoorlijk verstopt en is het moeilijk om grip te krijgen met de vleugelmoer om het te monteren.

Kortom: het drumstel heeft een goede prijs-kwaliteitverhouding, waardoor dat goed van pas kan komen om erachter te komen of je er verder in wil groeien.

De bezorging door DHL was erg teleurstellend. Het pakket werd niet bezorgd in het geselecteerde tijdvak zonder bericht van DHL of Bax wanneer wel, het pakket was beschadigd bij aankomst en om ondertekening werd niet gevraagd.

Voelt aan als goedkoop ding en dat is het ook, geluid erg dof en mat, basgeluiden moeilijk te onderscheiden, klinkt als een opgeblazen box, imitatieleder bekleding oordoppen en hoofdbeugel gaat snel schilferen en laat stukjes los.

Boven verwachting goede kwaliteit! Het is natuurlijk een beginnersset dus dat moet je goed in gedachten houden. Dit laat zich zien door dingen als de wat kleinere pads en het dynamisch bereik van de pads (met name de kick is redelijk alles of niets). De pads hebben standard jack aansluitingen maar de klankmodule heeft 1 grote D-Connector. Kapotte kabels vervangen zal dus moeilijk gaan zonder de hele kabelboom te moeten vervangen. Deze is van redelijke kwaliteit dus dat zal gelukkig niet zo snel nodig zijn. Kabels zijn allemaal op de juiste lengte voor de afstand tot de klankmodule, wat netjes wegwerken heel makkelijk maakt. Ook is elke pad en elke plug voorzien van een label zodat je weet wat waarop moet worden aangesloten.Top!
Ook de klanken vallen zeker niet tegen voor deze prijs, maar als je toch meer wilt is er een usb aansluiting om je favoriete drum plugin aan te sturen op je laptop. Wat verder opvalt is dat de pads echt heel stil zijn, dus nachtelijke oefensessies zijn geen probleem :) Ook zit er zelfs een paar stokken bij dus je kan meteen aan de slag. Mijn zoon (7) gaat hier echt een hele leuke eerste kit aan hebben. Ook dank aan Bax klantenservice die de 9 weken backorder na 1 belletje heeft omgezet naar ophalen in Rotterdam. Ik zag dat er daar nog eentje op voorraad was dus heb maar even mn superpapa cape om gedaan en naar de andere kant van het land gereden. (Ok ik moest die dag toch al in de buurt zijn, maar goed)

Dit drumstel gekocht en ik ben er harstikke blij mee.
Ooit op een blauwe maandag eens gedrumd.
Je bent een uurtje bezig om het drumstel in elkaar te zetten.
Er zit een goede gebruiksaanwijzing bij. Makkelijk in elkaar te zetten.
De kwaliteit vind ik goed voor de prijs.
Wat ik heel fijn vind, is dat er in deze set een bass pedaal zit wat ook echt aanvoelt.
Waardoor de drum ervaring ook echter aanvoelt.
Voor de beginnende drummer in een flatje is het echt een aanrader.
Heel erg blij met deze aankoop :)
