General
The DTX400 series is the foundation of Yamaha electronic drum sets. In other words these are the entry-level models, especially for beginners. But Yamaha proves that even beginners can start on a good drum kit. The DTX482K is the most luxurious model in the DTX400 series. Namely, it has an XP80 snare drum pad. It has three zones and has a so-called Textured Cellular Silicone (TCS) pad. This is a specially developed surface on which the sticks bounce naturally. In addition, this drum kit has an extra cymbal pad compared to the other models in this series. Furthermore, of course, a complete kit with 3 toms, cymbals, hihat controller, bass drum pad with regular pedal and, of course, a module.
DTX400 module
The layout of the pads is obviously important, but without a module you're nowhere. This is where the signal from the pads is converted to sound. Programmed into this module are the sounds of 10 drum kits. You can use these as you see fit for different styles, but also adjust them slightly. As this kit is especially for beginners, the module also has 10 built-in training functions. These train your timing, technique and speed. Yamaha also has some apps available that make playing even more challenging, like the DTX402 Touch app (iOS/Android) that lets you train even more. Or the Rec'n'Share app (iOS), which allows you to easily record and share your playing with your friends. For advanced drummers, there is a USB function, which allows you to connect the module to a computer.
