RME Fireface UFX+ Audio Interface

You read right! The former RME flagship, the Fireface UFX, has been replaced by the Fireface UFX+! This game-changer is fitted with a Thunderbolt port for ultra-fast data transfer, removing any chance of latency. Besides this, you'll also find a super-fast USB 3.0 port and DURec functionality which allows you to record directly onto USB media. The UFX+ can function perfectly as a stand-alone interface and has full MADI support, enabling you to record no fewer than 188 channels of inputs and outputs at the same time. RME has just raised the bar!

Limitless Connection Options

The list of standard connection options in the UFX+ is in a word, impressive. It features connectors for analogue instruments as well as ADAT, MADI, AES, SPDIF, USB 2, USB 3 and Thunderbolt. The result is that you can utilise the 12 analogue and over 16 ADAT + 2 AES + 64 MADI channels for a grand total of 94 channels! And, these are only inputs! Add the number of output channels to that, and you'll end up with 188 channels to be used simultaneously, with zero latency! The additional Thunderbolt functionality contribute to the reduction of CPU capacity and latency. What's more, the UFX+ with Thunderbolt is also compatible with Windows.

Improved AD/DA Converters and DURec

As if all this wasn't enough, the AD/DA converters have also been enhanced for an even more accurate conversion rate. This goes for the analogue I/O circuits as well, which have also been upgraded. To top it all off, the signal-to-noise ratio has been optimised and the THD values guarantee transparent, clear audio without a hint of noise or distortion. DURec, located on the front of the UFX+, contains a whole new generation of hardware, allowing it improved USB functionality and better compatibility with slower (older generation) USB sticks. The maximum number of channels you can use for recording has been increased to 76; in other words, 12 analogue inputs plus 64 MADI channels at once. Finally, the playback options of this RME UFX+ have been given a few more advanced functions also.
