Audient iD24 USB Audio Interface

General

Planting an impressive list of specs in the home studio, the Audient iD24 audio interface is a super-capable slab of tech loaded with two console-quality preamps combined with outstanding conversion quality and even the option to expand the setup via ADAT. Both preamps come straight out of Audient's renowned ASP8024-HE console, meaning that your recordings are treated to crystal clarity, wiped clean of any noise, distortion or colouring. Then there's the conversion: 32-bit digital-to-analogue conversion with a 126 decibel dynamic range which translates into an unbelievable level of recording and playback detail, fully supporting those critical decisions during the mixing phase.

ADAT I/O Expansion

If the two microphone and instrument combo-inputs aren't enough and you need to record a full drum kit or even a live band, then the number of inputs and/or outputs can be easily expanded to eight via the fitted ADAT and SPDIF ports. That's right, the iD24 also features a set of optical inputs and outputs, and the level of flexibility is so big, you could even integrated hardware units into your Audient setup via balanced inserts that can take your outboard effects so they can become part of the mix. And, if you have a set of external microphone preamps, you can simply bypass the built-in preamps of the interface and ensure the cleanest possible signal.

Plug-&-Play with USB Bus Power

The interface comes bundled up with a USB cable that you plug straight into your computer, so no external power supply is required and you can start work straight away. This plug-and-play ease of use is definitely designed with writing producing guitarists and bassists in mind, especially when it comes to the JFET input, which effectively mimics the harmonic feel of a traditional valve amplifier, giving the sound of your guitar or bass some sweet, vintage flavour even before it reaches your amp plugins.

Direct Headphone Mix Monitoring & Speaker Switching

Since the iD24 supplies two headphone outputs, both of which support 600 Ohm headphones, you're free to work alongside other artists. When mixing, you can compare and check your progress in detail by switching between two sets of studio monitors thanks to the set of four fitted line-outputs. During the recording and mixing phase, the other outputs can be used to hook up an external headphone amplifier so you can give each musician their own headphone mix, and all of it is backed up by the minimal latency provided by the iD Software Mixer.
