Yamaha LJ6 ARE Natural electro-acoustic steel-string guitar

Yamaha included many of their most exclusive guitar features in the LJ6 ARE Natural. This is a beautiful steel-string guitar with a medium jumbo LJ body - a model which is particularly comfortable for playing while seated. Compared to an LL model, the LJ body doesn't have quite the same broad dynamic range, but it makes up for that with exquisitely clear highs and sultry lows. The five-part mahogany/rosewood neck offers plenty of grip and comfort, and thanks to an adjustable truss rod it is seamlessly fused with the headstock and body for extra strength and stability.

Yamaha LJ6 ARE: features

The main attraction of the LJ6 ARE is its solid Engelmann spruce top. Engelmann spruce is a relatively rare tonewood, and is favoured for its excellent resonance, which is much better than the more commonly used Sitka spruce. With the addition of an improved interior bracing system, Yamaha has managed to give the low frequencies an extra boost without drowning out the bright trebles that the series is known for. Combined with the solid rosewood sides and back, the LJ6 has an incredibly open, present sound. It's also great for use in the studio or live, thanks to the built-in SRT Zero Impact pickup. The low-profile design of this system uses individual piezos for each string and does not include an additional preamp, meaning you can just plug the guitar into an amplifier and adjust the sound from there. This means that the guitar retains its classic look, and you still get an excellent amplified sound.

Acoustic Resonance Enhancement

A remarkable feature of the LJ6 ARE is that the top was processed with the special Yamaha ARE wood enhancing technology. This is a process whereby the molecular makeup of the Engelmann spruce is actually changed by carefully adjusting the temperature, air pressure and moisture of the wood. The results are astounding: the spruce settles and takes on the full, rich sound characteristics of vintage wood! Typically you'd have to wait years for such a mature sound, Yamaha has found a way to provide it to you with a brand new instrument, right out of the box. The beautiful, comfortable Yamaha LL6 ARE also comes with a gig bag, so you can take it with you wherever you go.
