There are many single-cut guitar models out there already. If you want something truly unique however, how about building your own with this Boston KIT-LP-10 guitar construction kit? Everything you need is included and Boston has done all of the shaping and routing so you don't have to. All you need to do is put it all together. Even beginners should have no problem building their own guitar using this affordable kit. And better still, once you've made it you can play it too!
Boston DIY guitar kits
Boston's DIY kits contain all the parts you need to build a complete instrument. There's no need to saw, drill, or do any of the hard labour, since all of the shaping and routing has already been done for you. Some models, however, do offer the option to custom shape the headstock. There are lots of different Boston DIY kits to choose from, including traditional-looking styles and the Archtop. Even if you want a 12-string guitar, a left-handed model, or a bass, the sky is the limit! These sets offer a creative and fun way to build your own unique custom guitar.

Bitterly disappointed with this over-priced kit. Had to modify the neck pocket to achieve correct neck angle. No instructions included in kit so had to find them from another kit on the Internet. I could have bought this equivalent kit for £66. I Would not recommend this product.

Maandje geleden besteld, en intussen helemaal afgewerkt. Mooie set, compleet tot het laatste schroefje.
Deze versie is waarschijnlijk beter geschikt om dekkend af te lakken, maar ik had een mooi exemplaar met mooie houtstructuur op vrijwel de hele top, dus gekleurd en met olie afgewerkt. Enkele minder mooie plekjes zitten onder de pick guard.
De gitaar zelf is prachtig, alles past netjes en de eerste indruk is dat hij goed bespeelbaar is.
Kleine afwijkingen met de afbeelding: ik kreeg een fretboard met trapezoide inlays (geen probleem, mooier dan de dots op de foto), en in tegenstelling tot de afbeelding was de electronica allemaal al kant en klaar met stekkertjes. Dus het solderen zal kunnen wachten totdat ik eventueel wat van de electronica wil gaan updaten.
Kortom, heel erg blij mee; zelf een gitaar bouwen is een leuke bezigheid, leerzaam, en het eindresultaat is je eigen gitaar, die je door en door kent.

Mijn eerste zelf knutsel project. Toen de doos open ging was ik het meest nieuwsgierig naar de hals. Gelukkig! De mijne is mooi vlak en er zijn geen 'dode' frets. Heb als kleur rood en zwart gebruikt van... de Action. Prima lak maar je moet wel heel voorzichtig spuiten want ze nevelen niet zo fijn als van de merkenwinkel. Als je transparante coating gebruikt om die mooi glad te polijsten: ga beter niet voor Action lak. die is òf te zacht, òf (na 6 lagen) toch nog net te dun. Dit heeft natuurlijk niets met de kwaliteit van het pakket te maken. Die is wat mij betreft voor de prijs prima te noemen. Wat ik direct vervangen heb waren de snaren en de topkam (te hoog, en vijlen kon 'ie niet tegen), en de tuners zijn net goed genoeg om een dag of twee in stemming te blijven. O, en een detail: ik heb een metalen strookje bovenin tussen hals en body geklemd, anders moest ik de tune-o-matic achterlijk ver uitdraaien. Al met al was het erg leuk om te maken en ben ik met het uiteindelijke resultaat meer dan tevreden.

Ik ben nog maar aan het beitsen en monteren van de gitaar en ik vind het al fantastisch! Er zit geen handleiding bij maar de meeste zaken zijn vrij duidelijk en er zijn ook voldoende YouTube filmpjes die je kunnen helpen. Echt een aanrader voor de creatieve gitarist die een gitaar wil die Echt van hem is.

Ik ben zeer tevreden over het bouwpakket,
Hij was op tijd binnen, maar bovenal compleet. Dit was de vorige keer niet toen ik hem elders bestelde.
Alle gaten zitten erin en het is een kwestie van schilderen en in elkaar zetten.
