General
The DiMarzio DP207 D Sonic has a hefty response in the high end, making this bridge pickup more than ideal for playing solos and single notes. The solid side of the pickup is best installed towards the bridge, giving you a somewhat brighter sound with more definition. If you install the solid side of the pickup towards the neck, the sound is warmer but also louder. Each coil has a unique sound character, making the with which the sounds of the 2 coils differ quite a bit, and via parallel connection also a third clean and bright sound emerges. The D-sonic is particularly suitable for guitarists playing with thicker strings and lower drop-tuning.
