The Celestion Gold is modelled after the ultimate vintage guitar speaker: the Celestion Blue. We have found the Blue in a wide variety of guitar cabinets since the 1960s. The sound of this 12-inch speaker is unprecedentedly dynamic, bass controlled and treble sparkling. To this day, the Blue's mesmerising tones are still popular with many a guitarist. The more modern Celestion Gold has exactly the same sound, but with its 50 watts it can handle a lot more power... This speaker therefore receives extremely positive reviews! You will also find the 8 ohm version in our range.

The Celestion Gold and the Blue

The original 15-watt Celestion Blue Alnico was based on the G12 speaker, which was widely used for the famous VOX AC30 amps in the 1960s. Alnico magnets are loved for their classic, organic and melodic sound, to which the Blue largely owes its sparkling sound. Many manufacturers had already attempted to make a copy with a higher load capacity, but only Celestion succeeded with the Gold in preserving the classic, bright 'Blue' sound at even the highest sound levels.
