The Color Sound 900 series by Paiste has been given a whole new colourful look but are made with the same Swiss precision as their standard 900 series cymbals. This set of black 14-inch Sound Edge hi-hats are made of B8-bronze alloy (Paiste's custom CuSn8 Bronze), then hammered and aligned by hand for a bright, clear sound. The rippled edge of the bottom cymbal delivers a faster response than the regular variety. These hi-hats also boast a sharp chick sound, crisp stick definition, and a full, open tone when open. It's the perfect set of hi-hats for all-round use and for drummers who want a lot of articulation.

The effect of the coating

The coloured coating used in Paiste's Color Sound 900 series is applied in such a thin layer, you can still see the hammer marks and grooves clearly. The effect on the tone is minimal, but you can expect a slightly drier sound and a shorter sustain than Paiste's non-coated cymbals, but you'll get a little more attack in return.
