General

The Dark Energy Series is part of the wider Paiste Signature Series and does exactly what the name implies: delivers brilliantly energetic darkness. The Mark 1 Dark Energy set of hi-hats is made up of a medium-thin top and an extra-heavy bottom, both shaped out of Proprietary Signature Bronze. The cymbals join forces to release a full, rich and undeniably dark sound with wide-ranging accents. The half-open sound is also full, sharp and cutting while the closed chick-sound is deliciously thick and crisp. This versatile 14-inch diameter hi-hat is able to complete pretty much any kit with its deep raw energy.

Wrote the following about Paiste Signature Dark Energy Mark 1 14-inch Hi-Hat

Geweldige hats, klinken zeer energiek en aanwezig zonder echter overheersend te zijn, prachtige wash, stevige heldere chick, heel mooie donkere stokdefinitie. Deze hits hebben een zeer prettige bite, ben er uitermate tevreden mee. De term Dark Energy doet goed recht aan deze cymbals. Zijn heel dynamisch ook, klinken en projecteren altijd goed, hard of zacht bespeeld. Erg fijne hats voor zowel kleinere bezettingen (jazztrio, -vocal)) als orkest (bigband). Zijn een mooie aanvulling op mijn wat vleziger klinkende Modern Essential Hats.
