One of the most important components of a microphone is the capsule and how it reacts to the audio source. Naturally, you want the recording to be as natural-sounding and pure as possible. Juris Zarins, CEO of JZ Microphones, came up with a unique sputtering technique known as the Golden Drop Capsule (GDC) and named it after the fact that it involved sprinkling tiny bits of gold all over the diaphragm capsule. Because gold is such a good electrical conductor, the GDC ensures that the audio - its dynamic changes in particular - is registered with accuracy and liveliness.
