Just like studio engineers and musicians around the globe, the engineers at JZ Microphones agree that the U67 condenser microphone is one of the most beloved microphones in the industry. That's why JZ Microphones CEO and founder, Juris Zarins, tried to incorporate as much of this famous mic as possible into their Vintage 67 tribute condenser microphone. Unlike the U67, however, the V67 is not a tube mic, but it is equipped with impressive technology that emulates that characteristic tube sound.

Large-Diaphragm with GDC

The V67 has a large diaphragm which is sprinkled with gold, which is an excellent electrical conductor, enabling the mic to react quickly and accurately to dynamic changes in the audio source. This special Golden Drop sputtering technique was developed by Juris Zarnis himself. Every JZ microphone has a GDC, which is really what sets it apart from the competition. Besides having an ultra-fast response, the capsule is also very lightweight, so it can return to its original position in a flash. This mic has a fixed cadioid pickup pattern, which means it picks up audio from the front of the mic, making it ideal for vocals and guitar amplification.

All JZ Microphones are made with class A electronics and components that are crafted and tested by hand, resulting in a pure audio signal before it even reaches your recording equipment. On top of that, electronics that are soldered by hand are resistant to overheating. At this time, JZ's Vintage series microphones do not have tubes. The internal circuitry is designed to function perfectly without them but able to emulate the characteristic sound of a tube mic. These mics don't contain any converters either, which makes them virtually noise-free.
