Wrote the following about AKG C3000 cardioid condenser studio microphone

Someone I know called these a "Poor Mans C414's". They are missing a little on what the C414's offer but at less than a 1/10th the price, they give the user 90% of what the C414's give you. I use these as Overheads when recording drums and they give a really nice sound that captures everything I'm looking for. Actually, you get a lot of mic for your money here. I know a couple of people using these for vox as well. I'm also using this in the back of an amp with a 909 on the front and it is giving a much better sound than the SM57 I was using.

A pair of these is well worth a look for anyone who wants to expand thier collection of mics past the basics. They are workhorses, so there will be plenty of uses. With the exception of Kick and Bass Amp, you will get a decent sound on almost anything else.

met een piano gebruikt, had er iets meer van verwacht..... teveel laag.
als overhead bij drums is hij super

Wrote the following about AKG C3000 cardioid condenser studio microphone

De AKG C3000 is op de markt gezet voor gitaar- en basversterkers, instrumenten en leadvocals.
Ook live wordt de C3000 ingezet, meestal zie je ze bij percussie of drums.
Zelf heb ik ervaring met de oude C3000, en de nieuwe C3000B. Door de jaren heen is er qua klank niet heel veel veranderd aan de verschillende versies van de C3000. De oude C3000 had als voordeel dat je kon switchen tussen nier en supernier. Zelf gebruik ik de C3000 (live) voor gitaarversterkers, koren, percussie, piano en drum overheads.

Vooral als drum overheads zijn ze erg geschikt!
Ook percussie is erg mooi met een C3000. Koren klinken ook goed, maar je moet wel wat draaien. Uiteindelijk heb ik liever een kleinmembraan condensator op een koor.
Wat wel lastig aan de C3000 is dat het niet overduidelijk is wat de voorkant van de mic is.
Dat heb ik in het begin aan den lijve ondervonden. Verkeerd om voor de gitaarversterker (Waarom hoor ik zoveel drums?!)

Live doeleinden C3000:
- Drum overhead

- Piano

- Koren

Studio:
Geen ervaringen met de C3000 in de studio, alhoewel hij vast goed werkt (acc. gitaar!)

Pluspunten:
+ Voor de prijs een uitstekende microfoon!
+ Klank bij drums/percussie erg goed
+ Goede shockmount!
+ Past ook in een SM58 klem!
+ Voelt stevig en solide aan
+ Lowcut en -10dB switches

Minpunten:
- Klank bij koren een beetje 'ver weg'
- "Wat is de voorkant?!"

Conclusie:
Mooie condensator voor live (en studio) voor een 'reasonable' prijs!
