Warm Audio WA-47jr FET Large-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone

Great sound and quick delivery! Lovely top end on cymbals and acoustic. Really pops out in the mix! I’d get another one in a heartbeat

Warm Audio WA-47jr FET Large-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone

I've managed to use this with quite a few clients now and everytime they've commented on just how good this sounds. I found myself using way less EQ when using this mic on Acoustic guitar and some vocals. It's that good.

Warm Audio WA-47jr FET Large-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone

Theres no denying the WA47 Jnr FET is beautifully made, although it doesnt come with the ubiquitous wooden box it is extremely well packaged and the shock mount would not be out of place on a real Neuman.

Overall impressions are positive, I tried it against my favourite AKGC535 condenser mic recording a voiceover and it imparted an additional warmth and richness, which given how much I like that mic was impressive.

Since then I have put it through its paces on a music session recording both vocal and acoustic guitar. Straight out of the box it definitely needs some EQ to make it fit in a rock track but it still imparts a pleasing tone. On acoustic guitar it was slightly less impressive than I was hoping for but double tracked with the AKG 535 it was nonetheless very usable.

Its not a magic bullet and it doesnt sound like its big brother based on what reviews Ive read and videos Ive watched, but it is a great mic for the money nonetheless.

My only concern is that despite the published figures the noise floor is not that great, its not just a straightforward his but a general mic/background sound that you hear.

Its not noticeable on vocals but definitely noticeable on voice-overs and have also noticed it come up in a few reviews online.

Bottom line for £275 its a great mic but its not a Neumann.. that said its not a nasty Chinese copy as some people have intimated either .

Een zeer goede microfoon. Kwaliteit en service voor iedereen die aan zijn muzikale avontuur begint. De winkel is de beste van het land, met eersteklas service. Vandaag kopen, morgen opnemen. Ik kan hem van harte aanbevelen.
