General

The Neumann TLM 170R large diaphragm condenser is perhaps the most flexible and hard-working microphone in existence. This mic offers no less than five possible pickup patterns, including the standard cardioid, omni, and figure-of-8, alongside wide-cardioid and supercardioid. No matter the selected pattern, the frequency response is so close to linear (even the diffuse field response) it might as well be lying down, meaning that the TLM 170R will perform just as beautifully when close miking as it does when ambient miking. This complete stereo pair includes two TLM 170R microphones, a set of matching shockmounts and a protective case.
