Thus, this Small-edite of Cyclone has released an improved version of its ingenious 3D-Tex housing. This has resulted in an even more neutral frequency response and more effective attenuation of wind and ambient noise. Moreover, you transform your windshield function into a stable suspension in literally seconds using the unique 'Z-locking' system. This acts as a sturdy and widely deployable tripod with built-in shock prevention. In fact, Rycote has taken suspension to the next level. This has been achieved by implementing the patented 'Floating Basket Suspension' principle that you will find in the suspension of this Cyclone.

More possibilities

With the updated Cyclone windscreen comes a number of interesting features. One very practical feature, for example, is to accommodate a whole new range of microphones. Previously, this was not possible. So you can now fit shotgun microphones in addition to compact condenser microphones. Of course, using the high quality damping and protection you are used to from Rycote. The patented 3D-Tex material has also been improved. This has resulted in a more neutral reproduction of the sound of the source to be recorded. Also thanks to the material's open structure and organic shape, acoustic transparency is unrivalled. Shock resistance taken to the next level

Everywhere, you, or rather your equipment, are subject to shock and vibration. However, with this version of the Cyclone windshield, shock resistance has been taken to the next level. Because Rycote has applied the exclusive 'Floating Basket Suspension' principle to all its new Cyclone screens, this is no longer an issue. Rycote's familiar suspension system is designed to absorb vibrations and shocks as best as possible. Indeed, with this new system, vibrations are tackled at the source so that they cannot be further transmitted to the rest of the structure or travel through the air to cause interference. Each Cyclone is equipped with this, and here the combined weight of the basket and the specified microphone has been considered. This is to achieve maximum isolation.
