General

The preamp plays a crucial role in the signal processing chain, where you want minimal or no noise at all. This is where a model like the API Audio 3124V becomes invaluable. This microphone preamp supplies four XLR microphone ports and four Hi-Z jack inputs and, to fully reinforce the quality, comes equipped with the same API 2520 op-amps found inside all high-end API models. The output level is variable and a switchable 3:1 transformer section has also been included as well as a polarity switch and internal 48 Volt phantom power, which can be toggled on and off per channel via the switches mounted next to the mic/line switches mounted on the front panel. The API 3124V delivers up to 65 decibels of gain and injects any Hi-Z signal directly into the op-amp, removing the need for an extra transformer or a direct input. Integrate this high-performance preamp into your rig via the XLR outputs lined up along the rear panel.
