General

The Tascam Series 8p Dyna is a solid microphone preamp featuring an analogue compressor with true bypass on every channel to ensure ultra-clean analogue signals at all times. This 19" preamp only takes up 1U in your rack and is packed with 8 HDIA (High Definition Instrumentation Architecture) preamp circuits. It's among one of the best mic preamps Tascam have designed until now, so expect lots of headroom and an extremely low signal-to-noise ratio. Each of the eight microphone channels can be individually supplied with +48V phantom power and used in combination with multiple types of mics, including dynamic, condenser, ribbon and vintage.

Plenty of Connectors for Expansion

Two S/MUX optical outputs on the rear panel can be used to expand this preamp with suitable external interfaces. ADAT is fully supported so any expansion can be easily realised. The main advantage of S/MUX is that it allows for a 96 kHz sample rate on all eight channels, while four selected channels even offer a sample rate of 176.4 or 192 kHz. You can also find eight, fully-balanced, analogue line level channels round the back and a 25-pin D-sub connector so you can set-up a fully-fledged Dante network in combination with Tascam's ML-16D or ML-32D converters. In short, the Tascam Series 8p Dyna microphone preamp offers ample possibilities for ambitious studio enthusiasts.
