If you have ever worked with Ableton, you'll know that a controller is mightier than a mouse. In order to experience Ableton to the fullest, you need to be able to touch it. Fortunately, the Akai APC40 MKII is here to help you out. Akai has really paid attention to the feedback from APC40 users and changed the layout of the control panel accordingly. This MK2 version has a slightly more flashy and modern look, the cursors are placed at the bottom, eight of the rotary encoders are now located on a spot that makes more sense, and a number of other controls have also been positioned more efficiently. Overall, the APC40 MKII offers a better work flow than its predecessor.
APC40 MKII: Loads of possibilities
This USB-powered controllers offers a 1:1 integration with Ableton Live: its eight faders, eight rotary encoders and a master fader all provide direct access. A 5x8 matrix, equipped with colourful backlit buttons that are slightly wider than those of the original APC40, gives you control over your Ableton clips. Apart from the excellent controller (another great Akai product), the accessory software that comes with the APC40 MKII deserves a mention as well. Included are Ableton Live Lite, Hybrid 3 (AIR Music Tech), Twist (SONiVOX), Prime Loops (Producers Tools) and the downloadable Launch Packs (Toolroom Records). Apart from a computer, you have everything you need to get started: Ableton, various samples... More than enough to keep you going for quite a while!

Dit apparaat is gemakkelijk in te stellen met resolume. Geen aparte software voor nodig. Aansluiten en direct te gebruiken.

Je kunt m ook goed inzetten met andere DAW's zoals FL Studio, omdat de knoppen gewoon MIDI-noten sturen.

Natuurlijk kan hij minder dan de Push controller, maar daardoor is hij wel een stuk overzichtelijker en dus makkelijker te leren. Een andere voordeel boven de Push is dat je ook faders hebt.
Eigenlijk het enige, of in ieder geval grootste, nadeel vind ik dat je alleen in Live zelf kunt zien waar je in je set bent. Je ziet dus op de APC zelf niet welke kanaal correspondeert met de faders, of welk device (parameters) geselecteert zijn voor de controllers. Dat betekent dat je je set wel goed moet voorbereiden / organiseren...
Maar goed, met displays er op zou de APC natuurlijk weer (een stuk) duurder geweest zijn. Zoals hij is vind ik de prijs/kwaliteit verhouding prima.

stond een levertijd van 4 dagen .
helaas na 6 dagen te hebben geïnformeerd heb ik de bestelling geannuleerd .
omdat de levertijd was verlengd naar 8 weken .
daar ze leveringsproblemen hebben van dit product.
met verwachte levertijden toch wel opletten dat dit verlengd kan worden.
hier zal bax zelf niets aan kunnen doen natuurlijk .
ik zelf heb geleerd niets te bestellen voor het in huis is als je dringend iets nodig hebt.
