Neural DSP’s Quad Cortex is designed for the discerning guitarist and bassist who demands the very best in sound quality, yet remains pragmatic. The Quad Cortex features a total of six (4x SHARC+ and 2x ARM Cortex-A5) processor cores responsible for handling various tasks that need to be performed simultaneously. For example, you can use multiple amplifiers at the same time whilst also applying a range of effects. But there is much more that makes the Quad Cortex interesting. What if you want to use your own tube amp as a digital model in the Quad Cortex? You can! The so-called ‘profiler’ creates a ‘capture’ of your amp, which you can then use live or in your studio or rehearsal room. This means you no longer have to worry about the fragile nature of such amps, but you can still enjoy the sound of your favourite amps!

A growing network of guitar and bass algorithms

Another great feature of the Quad Cortex is that the network of users – and therefore profiles and presets – is constantly growing. The chance of finding a particular amp in the Cortex Cloud that you’ve been searching for for years, because it’s rare, is getting bigger by the day. Even the collection that comes as standard on the modeller is already quite impressive. You can choose from or create combinations of more than fifty different amplifiers, more than fifty effects and also fifty-plus impulse responses. The Quad Cortex is also incredibly user-friendly. You select an amp, then a ‘cab block’ and EQ, and then you can add effects if you wish. The most amazing thing of all is probably that this powerhouse weighs less than two kilograms and is less than thirty centimetres wide!
