One of the most innovative features of the Boss V-Guitar Processor has to be the Dual Guitar/Bass mode which can be used to combine two different guitar or bass sounds even when you're playing just one instrument. Each sound also has its own, fully customisable signal path, exploding your options, whether you're gigging or recording. Custom and alternative tuning options are also on offer, so you can flip to drop-D, open tunings, 12-string sound just by hitting the right switch and all without having to stop to painstakingly tune up or swap your instruments out. The String Bend function also hands over extra playing control, where you can bend specific strings with the help of the fitted CTL switch which isn't just convenient, but ups both the dynamic and expressive potential.

And then we come to the impressive sound library, where the VG-800 stacks up a full range of preamps and high-quality Boss-made effects. The classic sounds of the Roland GR-300 Guitar Synthesizer and VIO Guitar are also fully supported and, if you want to experiment with external effect pedals or even synthesizers, the Boss V-Guitar Processor can simply be hooked up to the GM-800 Guitar Synthesizer. The guitar-to-MIDI function also gives you the option to play external MIDI instruments with ease, all you need is a compatible USB or MIDI cable. For broader control, an extra two footswitches or one expression pedal can be connected and, so you have a handle on every setting and feature, you also get access to the Boss Tone Studio, where you can manage your sounds and download and share live sets via the BOSS Tone Exchange.
