General

MXR's M269SE Carbon Copy Bright is a redesigned version of the renowned Carbon Copy delay pedal. As the name implies, this effects pedal generates a brighter sound than its predecessor, complete with sparkling echoes. Its chips, however, remain unchanged, and their analogue bucket brigade technology still delivers the same warm sound. Boasting an enhanced circuit, the Carbon Copy Bright optimally responds to your playing dynamics, virtually causing your notes to sing. Thanks to its exceptional clarity, the number of repetition seems to be higher than it actually is. Combine the Bright pedal with the original Carbon Copy, and you'll have a unique mix of warmth and sparkle at your disposal.

M269SE Carbon Copy Bright: functionality

A Delay knob allows you to adjust the M269SE Carbon Copy Bright's delay time up to an impressive 600 milliseconds. The pedal's Regen knob - short for regeneration - determines the number of repetitions, and the Mix knob allows you to fine-tune the balance between your dry guitar signal and the effect. What really puts the Carbon Copy apart from other delay pedals, is its modulation option. Two internal potentiometers enable you to adjust width and rate, creating either a subtle or a more extreme modulation effect. Should you choose not to use the pedal for a while, you're guitar signal isn't affected, thanks to the Carbon Copy Bright's true bypass technology.

Development and results

It was Dunlop that brought effects guru Jeorge Tripps and engineer Bob Cedro together in 2008, resulting in a series of effects pedals that included the original Carbon Copy - a pedal based on the beloved 1979 analogue delay. The Carbon Copy's circuit produces a rather dark sound, however, so as time progressed, demand for an effects pedal with a slightly more sparkling tone increased. MXR heeded the call. Developing the Carbon Copy Bright took them no fewer than four years, but not a second of that time was wasted. This high-grade analogue delay pedal positively exudes the love and passion for music its creators put into it.

MXR M269SE Carbon Copy Bright analogue delay pedal

Een recht toe rechtaan analoog delay pedaal met een sprankelend, warme, heldere delay. Voor mij iets te scherp klinkend maar een fantastische kwaliteit delay.
