General
Why change a winning design? While built using modern parts and techniques, the Cloud 44 passive ribbon microphone features the same ribbon motor blueprint as the RCA microphones from the 1930s, giving you the best of both worlds: the unrivalled warmth of an old-school ribbon mike combined with the reliability of a modern microphone. Since passive ribbon microphones like the Cloud 44 Passive are infamous for their low sensitivity, Cloud Microphones include a CL-1 Cloudlifter which will come in handy in case your audio interface doesn't pack enough gain to clearly capture quieter audio sources.
