Rupert Neve's tailor-made circuit of the RNR1 ensures that this ribbon microphone can register high frequencies and accurately transfer the signal. The standard frequency range of the RNR1 ranges from 20 Hz to 25 kHz, which is three times as much as other ribbon microphones in its class.

Ribbon microphones have the special property that they register sound highly accurately, especially the harmonies. Standard ribbons hardly pick up on frequencies from 7 to 10 kHz, however.
