General

Like an echo of a fifties and sixties heirloom, this double-cut stunner brings antique-grade warmth and resonance into the present before piling on the modern comfort and playability. The D'Angelico Excel DC semi-acoustic features deep and graceful cutaways, a thin-C neck profile and a 16 inch wide body built from laminated maple and fitted with a lightweight centreblock to limit feedback. The rosewood fretboard has even been finished with Jescar 47104 fretwire - a detail that's directly inspired by the golden age of the semi-hollow body.

Seymour Duncan '59 Sound

A two-piece set of classic Seymour Duncan '59 humbuckers combine with the vintage-flavoured build to produce a surprisingly wide tonal spectrum framed by ultra-warm basses, glassy, bell-like trebles and masses of natural sustain. The rich sonic character of this guitar has been echoed in the detailing: from the set of Grover Imperial machine heads and Deco-style tuning buttons to the pinstriped ebony control pots and gold hardware, completing an elegant and flexible love note of a model.
