General

The Duesenberg Starplayer TV is a familiar sight on big stages, and this model clearly shows why. The special (handcrafted) Rusty Relic finish gives this guitar a well-worn look that really stands out, as if it had already played a hundred gigs before it found its way to you. Beneath that rugged finish lies a solid semi-hollow body with a domed spruce top and a maple back and sides. The neck is crafted from a single piece of solid maple and, with its medium D-shaped profile, feels comfortable and familiar in the hand. In addition, the neck has been PLEK-treated, ensuring that all the frets are perfectly levelled. This guarantees you’ll receive a buzz-free guitar on delivery!

A sound with character

In terms of sound, this Rustic Relic is every bit as good as its sleeker counterparts from the Starplayer TV line-up. The Duesenberg Domino P90 in the neck position delivers an open, slightly rough tone with enough punch to cut through a mix. At the bridge, you’ll find a Duesenberg GrandVintage humbucker, which delivers solid, full-bodied lead tones. Both pickups on the Rusty Relic feature an ‘aged’ finish that complements the rest of its appearance perfectly. The middle position of the 3-way switch features a special circuit that filters low frequencies from the humbucker’s sound, resulting in a slightly more transparent tone. The Duesenberg Diamond Deluxe Tremolo keeps your tuning stable, even when you use plenty of vibrato in your playing. This makes the guitar equally at home in heavy rock as it is in bluesy genres.

Duesenberg took its name from the famous car brand of the 1920s. That car brand stood for elegance, luxury and mechanical precision. The German company Duesenberg Guitars has adopted these qualities.
