If it's good enough for Joe Bonamassa, then definitely for your applications. The guitarist has partnered with Palmer in the creation of the PDI03 JB speaker simulator and DI, with a bunch of cool features. For instance, besides a standard ground/lift, in and thru and a balanced (XLR) and unbalanced output (6.3 mm jack), you have another four switches on the top of this little box. On one side, you have a deep/normal/flat switch that lets you shape the bass, while the bright/normal/mellow switch takes care of the treble. But it really gets fun with the JB switch. Namely, it lets you decide how your mids should sound. It can be used on amps, preamps and effects pedals alike.

Wrote the following about Palmer PDI03 JB speaker simulator and DI

Build like a tank, lekker analoog, geen voeding nodig, voldoende nuances in het geluid mogelijk via de verschillende schakelaars. In feiten levert iedere combinatiestand van de schakelaars een bruikbaar geluid op. Werkt goed tussen een gitaarversterker en een speakercabinet. Ook in de effectloop van een multieffect pedaal welke naar een recorder of mengtafel gaat, levert dit apparaat een heel bruikbare bijdrage in het geluid. De ervaring die ik met IR-speakersimulaties heb is dat je meer met finetuning bezig bent dan met het spelen op de gitaar. Dit apparaat heeft voldoende mogelijkheden om een goed geluid te produceren, zonder te complex te zijn. Gewoon simpel aansluiten en spelen maar. Je maakt er de geluidstechnicus en vooral jezelf heel blij mee. Het geluid is ook heel bruikbaar voor een In-Ear systeem.
