This Yamaha HS monitor set consists of two HS7 monitors accompanied by an HS8S subwoofer to provide you with an ideal 2.1 reference system that's perfect for a variety of applications such as production, DJ-ing or even for a sound system for your living room. The Yamaha HS series is based on Yamaha's earlier series of HS monitors, but has been improved to feature a sleeker design with better technology under the hood.
Yamaha HS7
The Yamaha HS7 monitors form the core of the set, and can be credited with the perfect sound reproduction of all levels - from the lowest bass to the highest treble. Both monitors are equipped with a 95W bi-amp amplification module that sends the components enough power for optimal sound reproduction. Furthermore, Yamaha's correction system on the back of the monitors makes detailed adjustments possible, so you can get optimal performance in combination with the acoustics of the room you're in.
Yamaha HS8S
The HS8S subwoofer is quite noticeable, thanks to its unique design. In the centre of one of the sides of the woofer, you'll find a large bass reflex port that has been tactically placed in such a way that sound waves are projected onto the floor, and from there, spread throughout the room. The 150W amplification module ensures ample power, and thanks to the excellent characteristics of the audio technology, even deep frequencies are perfectly reproduced.

One thing to keep in mind though is that it's very sensitive to the positioning (like any sub). If I put it in the corner a bit out of sight, then it creates a room mode in the opposite corner with greatly amplified bass, while there's almost nothing in the centre of the room. So need to play around with it, and adjust for your listening position. Something to keep in mind.

Opmerking bij de video presentatie van Stijn: Met verbazing naar zijn uitleg over de fase-switch geluister. Zo zou hij uitkomst kunnen bieden bij staande golven door de fase om te keren???? Dit is volslagen onzin!!
