General
The Swedish brand Elektron already offered a powerful four-voice analogue synth with the Analog Four, but that model lacked one important feature: a keyboard. Presenting the Elektron Analog Keys. It offers the same analogue power as its keyboard-deprived counterpart: each voice has two analogue oscillators, two sub-oscillators, double analogue filters and an analogue overdrive. Now, however, all that functionality is enriched by the addition of a 37-key keyboard - three full octaves. Thanks to these keys, your workflow will become much more intuitive, both live and in the studio. You can instantly try out any ideas you have for sounds, and while one hand is playing a melody, you'll have the other hand free to tweak the sound to your heart's content.
Elektron Analog Keys: presets and step sequencer
The Analog Keys is exceedingly powerful and boasts 512 factory presets and 128 projects, and thanks to its extensive internal memory, it has enough memory for up to 4,000 presets. Of course, it also has the Analog Four's step sequencer, which allows for lightning-quick patterns, and it even produces great drum beats. EDM and electro producers will be thrilled! The Analog Keys is also called a 'live performance synth', as this Swedish synth allows you to sweep your audience off their feet with its fat, heavy sounds.
Multi-mode
The multi-mode is reminiscent of affordable living room keyboards. This mode allows you to split the keyboard up, so that you can have a different sound at your disposal for each octave (or a combination of a drum kit and different sounds). The 37 keys feature red LEDs that light up when you play a note, and the Analog Keys also has a handy hold mode that latches the notes or chords you're playing, leaving you all the time to tweak the sound as much as you want.

Minpunt, de toetsen zijn kwetsbaar van onderen. Er zit geen bescherming onder, dus maak je even een onhandige beweging van onderaf, dan zou je een paar toetsen eruit kunnen wippen. Je kan 'm dus ook niet schuin op een verhoging gebruiken of zo, want dan kun je de toetsen niet meer indrukken. Dat is echt een punt waar ze in Göteborg effe niet over nagedacht hebben, zonde...
Nog een minpunt is het kleine schermpje, had ook iets meer 2015 mogen zijn.(hier hoor je iedereen over klagen, al jaren, en ik snap niet dat men zich daar niks van aantrekt bij Elektron). Het schermpje is al klein maar ook nog eens niet kantelbaar.
En de prijs; tja, geen klein bedrag, je moet er dus serieus over nadenken.
Maar het grote pluspunt; de geluiden klinken prachtig en professioneel, en dat maakt dat de minpunten vlug zijn vergeten. De machine werkt ook verslavend door de flexibele sequencer. Ook de effecten, vooral de reverb, adembenemend!! Dus wees gewaarschuwd; kruip je er eenmaal achter, dan ben je zo twee uur verder....De filters zijn goed, veel LFO-mogelijkheden, een heel mooie arpeggiator, 4 sporen, 4-stemmig polyfoon, een hold-functie, een songmode, per stap parameters instellen (parameterlocks), makkelijke transpose, octaafshift, swingfunctie, ik vergeet vast nog een aantal dingen....echt zo mooi allemaal.
....o ja, je kunt gratis en voor niets honderden geluiden downloaden via de Elektronsite en op je machine installeren naast de 512 presetsounds die er al inzitten.

Wow, wat een puike synth! Ik heb een Korg M3, Korg Radias, Roland Integra, Yamaha Motif XS en nog wat randapparatuur en diverse VST's.
Ik denk dan ook dat ik aardig wat vergelijkingsmateriaal in huis heb.
Het analoge geluid is super, filters e.d. uitstekend en de reverb, delay en chorus is verre weg het beste dat ik ooit ervaren heb.
Dan de sequencer: zeer krachtig en inspirerend, zeer eenvoudig in het gebruik.
Door de zeer, zeer vele mogelijkheden is het niet te doen om alles hier op te sommen. Simpelweg omdat Ik ook nog niet alles ken.....(en ik heb aardig wat ervaring denk ik). Dit brengt me tot het volgende punt en dat is de redelijk lange leercurve, maar goed, je kunt niet alles hebben. Als je eenmaal weet hoe zaken werken en in te stellen zijn dan is het een genot om te spelen.
Klein minpuntje is het erg kleine LCD schermpje, dit had wat groter mogen zijn, maar past wel in het geheel...een analoge synth had vroeger ook geen scherm....
Ook de bouwkwaliteit van knoppen, toetsen en kast (metaal) is zeer degelijk.
Resumerend:
Een puike synth die niet al te goedkoop is maar zeker zijn geld waard!!!
