With the Korg Krome 73-key workstation, renowned brand Korg has issued a combination of excellent sounds, great user-friendliness and a compact build. The Korg Krome features a number of astonishing piano sounds, for instance, which have been borrowed from the popular Kronos series. This particular Krome model is equipped with 73 semi-weighted keys.

Built-in 16-track sequencer
A Korg workstation wouldn't be a Korg workstation if it wasn't packed with production and mixing tools. This Korg Krome is equipped with a 16-track sequencer, as well as a powerful editor, effects and mastering tools, all of which can be easily operated using the touch screen. The workstation can be connected to your computer via USB and is fitted with an SD memory card slot.

Wat is het apparaat mij tegen gevallen. De toetsen spelen veel te licht, waardoor dynamiek maken moeilijk is. Die "magistrale" pianoklank klinkt heel "iel/dun" zonder body en kan echt niet tippen aan mijn Roland. Ik heb 2 dagen alle andere sounds doorgenomen en steeds met mijn yamaha/roland vergeleken. Op mijn oude apparaten klinkt bijna alles beter. Veel sounds zitten er volgens mij ook gewoon dubbel in, waardoor het lijkt of je veel sounds hebt. Ik mis warmte en body. Het enige dat mij wel redelijk kon bevallen zijn de drumsounds. Na 2 dagen heb ik het opgegeven.
Wel 5 sterren voor de super retour service van Bax. Binnen 3 dagen het geld terug en super contact gehad met Julie van de helpdesk. Ik ga maar doorsparen voor een duurder en vooral beter instrument. Voor mij voorlopig geen Korg, maar wel weer bij Bax bestellen en dan misschien maar even vanuit Limburg naar Goes rijden om uit te proberen. Bedankt Bax.

De bestelprocedure ging perfect. Een dag later stond een jongeman van Post NL met een grote door voor de deur. Volgens de medewerker worden dit soort pakketten apart behandeld. De doos was dan ook geheel schadevrij en schoon.
Eenmaal uitgepakt en aangesloten viel de klank me eerst wat tegen. Een stuk 'dunner' dan ik gewend was.
Nu een week later denk ik daar toch anders over. De Krome is zeer licht (8kg), heeft een redelijk stevige behuizing en speelt toch een stuk beter dan eerdere Korg workstations.
De klanken zijn zeer veelzijdig en vanavond heb ik de Krome in een band gehoord. De piano en pads en dergelijke blijven gemakkelijk overeind en door de uitgebreide effecten geven ze veel warmte en sfeer. Het schakelen tussen klanken via het grote scherm is even wennen, maar gaat na een aantal uren spelen perfect. Tijdens het spelen kun je gemakkelijk een keuze maken uit de diverse goed georganiseerde groepen en switchen.
Verder genoeg aansluitmogelijkheden, een handige sequencer en veel inspiratie mogelijkheden. De drum paterns bij de programma's en combi's zijn goed gekozen en er is altijd wel wat te vinden om als uitgangspunt te gebruiken voor een klank of nummer.
Al met al ben ik na een week spelen dik tevreden. Ik kan dit superinstument in zijn prijsklasse zeker aanbevelen. 1200 Euro is een hoop geld maar voor dat geld krijg je ontzettend veel mogelijkheden verpakt in een zeer fijn, goed speelbaar instrument.
