With the FA-08 Music Workstation, Roland prove that the workstation concept is not yet outdated by far. This FA-08 bypasses the profusion of buttons and menus common for workstations, and weighs less than previous 88-key models. It is, however, equipped with the renowned Ivory Feel-G keyboard with Escapement. This keyboard with its natural feel is combined with a lightweight housing and a number of analogue and digital connectors, making this Roland a strong link in any musical setting.
The Roland FA-08: sounds
This workstation unites the best of Roland's sounds and technology. The powerful synth sounds of the SuperNATURAL engine, hundreds of sounds of the Integra-7 sound module and many PCM waveforms of the XV-5080 are all combined in the FA-08. In addition, a selection of the highly expressive acoustic sounds from the SuperNATURAL library has also been incorporated. If you like, you can even expand your sound arsenal with downloadable sounds. The FA-08 features 16 parts, each with 67 available effect types. With TFX (Total Effects) you can assign powerful master effects, including DJ FX Looper and Isolator.
Sound Modify, trigger pads and DAW integration
The FA-08 bypasses the indirect interaction that used to be the standard for workstations. The six knobs of the Sound Modify section give you control over ADSR curves, EQ, effects and more. The 16 illuminated pads can be used to trigger, among others things, the built-in sampler. With the DAW Control button you can seamlessly control your DAW, while the familiar D-Beam controller does not require any further explanation. The FA-08 can also be used as a USB audio interface. The rear panel is fitted with inputs for line signals (mini jack) and guitar or vocals (jack), so you only need to add a computer or a laptop to create a full-fledged digital studio environment.
