The entire Juno Series, so the Juno-6, Juno-60 and the Juno-106 were simply rock-solid, dependable and affordable synthesizers, making them a go-to for countless gigging synth players. With the all-new Juno-X, Roland finally breathe fresh life into the Juno name.

The Mouth-Watering Features of the Roland Juno-X

Just like the old Roland HS-60, the Juno-X features a surprising built-in system speaker system. Under the hood, you won't find any analogue components. The might of this modern synth lies in its digital ZEN Core engine which offers more than just the sounds of the Juno-106. In fact, you're treated to samples of the Juno-60, the XV-5080, the RD Series models, and Roland's own classic vocoder. On top of that, there's an expansion slot for uploading Roland Cloud sounds (Jupiter-8, JD-800, etc...) and as a sweet bonus, the Juno-X comes with ten Sound Packs.

Ik heb heel lang gezocht, gewikt en gewogen, en uiteindelijk voor deze synth gekozen. Mijn belangrijkste criteria waren:

- Aftertouch (channel of poly maakte me niet zoveel uit)
- Multi-timbral. Met 4 parts in een scene (excl. percussie/drums) kun je hier uitstekend mee uit de voeten
- Goede 70-ies & 80-ies benadering van analoge synths...dit hoeft geen verder betoog met de goede emulatie van de Juno 60 en 106...
- Goede digitale mogelijkheden & patching. Ik focus me primair op sound design...Ook dit is een tck in the box met de ZEN-Core engine...veel mogelijkheden om banks te downloaden, maar ook zelf te maken...

De i-Arp, drums als 5e part en ingebouwde speakers zijn kersen op de taart!

Al met al een uitstekende synth, met (voor mij) een goede prijs bij BAX. Zoals altijd een snelle levering, alles dik in orde.

Na lang wikken en wegen, YT en reviews besloot ik deze moderne Juno aan te schaffen.
Nooit eerder een Juno gehad en wilde niet de sores van de vintage modellen.
Deze Juno X heeft alle klanken die er toe doen en zal menig verwende Juno- of synthesizerliefhebber een grote grijns doen geven.
Maar er is meer, véél meer moois dan uitsluitend de standaard 60 en 106.
Prijs is relatief hoog maar gezien het gebodene vind ik het meer dan waard.
Goede afwerking (zwaar) en alles voelt solide.

Als jongen van een jaar of 18 ging ik vaak naar de plaatselijke muziekwinkel om daar de Juno 106 uit te proberen. Helemaal weg was ik van de klank van deze synthesizer, maar helaas heb ik hem nooit gekocht. Nu ongeveer 35 jaar later krijg ik een herkansing; de Juno X bij Bax besteld. Vanaf het openen van de doos is het een feest der herkenning, en de sound van weleer en meer heb ik nu wel in mijn studio!
