Wrote the following about Avantone Pro Mondo kick drum microphone

The Mondo a very interesting and surprising mic. Although I read many reviews before buying, its much better than I expected.

The build quality fantastic, better in hand than photographs. Angle adjustment easy and smooth, body, mesh grill and mount tough enough for the road. The carrying case also well made (other manufacturers should take note) and gives great protection.

In use (22"x16" bass drum 3" hole in res head), I found the mic performed very well. Great punch, full sound with plenty of clarity and gain. I'll have no reservations using the Mondo for live and studio work. Highly recommended!

ik hou enorm van deze microfoon. ik ben deze gaan gebruiken bij mengtafeltjes met een slechte EQ. De microfoon klinkt zonder EQ reeds "processed". mits een goede plaatsing klinkt hij diep en punchy. Koop er alvast een stevig statiefje bij, want hij is loodzwaar.... tip : probeer zeker ook de adam pro atom voor de floortom.

Tot dusver zeer tevreden met deze base klopper!

Onze drummer en geluidsman waren zeer positief verbaasd over het geluid wat deze kickdrum microfoon voortbrengt en konden eigenlijk niet geloven dat het uit zo'n 'onbekende' en goedkope(re) microfoon kwam.

Ik heb voor aanschaf online ontdekt dat hij per definitie zeker niet minder klinkt in vergelijking met de bekendere base kloppers die vaak 2-3 keer duurder zijn. Nou is het altijd een beetje kwestie van smaak maar wij zijn erg tevreden over de sound met optredens, lekker vet en strak.

Zorg wel voor een stevige en stabiele microfoonstandaard want het is niet alleen qua geluid een -gewichtige- microfoon!
