General

Whereas a standard tenor ukulele has four separate strings, the Ortega Bonfire Series RU4MM-CE-TE-8 comes with eight strings. In doing so, the lowest strings get an octave companion and the higher strings an extra string with the same tone, giving a fuller, richer sound with a natural chorus-like tone. Very similar to the effect of a 12-string guitar, but in the compact size of a tenor ukulele. Ortega has built the body of the ukulele entirely from mahogany. This results in a warm, round tone that suits strumming and melody playing well. And the fingerboard and bridge made of black walnut give a clear and direct articulation when pressing the notes!

Can be used electrically thanks to the Magus X/U

Ortega's built-in Magus X/U preamp makes the RU4MM-CE-TE-8 immediately usable for performances or recording sessions. The system is rechargeable via USB-C, so avoids hassle with batteries. With the built-in tuner, tuning all strings is quick and easy. In short: the Ortega Bonfire Series RU4MM-CE-TE-8 is a versatile tenor ukulele for beginners and advanced players. Perfect for the player looking for more depth than you get with a traditional four-string ukulele!
