General

The AKG WMS420 is a professional wireless handheld system with very easy controls. The transmitter and receiver automatically find the best interference-free channel together. The set comes in various versions, which each work on a different frequency. This version communicates via band A, which runs from 530 to 559 MHz. Within this band, the frequencies are divided up in 8 channels.

WMS 420: HT420 handheld transmitter

The HT420 is the handheld transmitter of the WMS 420. It operates for 8 hours on a single AA battery and is equipped with the renowned D5 microphone head. This dynamic capsule has a wide frequency range that reaches from 70 Hz to 20 kHz. This means that every detail of your voice will be beautifully registered. The head has a highly directional super-cardioid pickup pattern, so that ambient noise is hardly picked up and chances of feedback are minimal.

Communication

The HT420 handheld transmitter makes the connection with the SR420 receiver, which is very compact and equipped with two detachable BNC antennas. On the display of the transmitter and the display on the receiver, you can see which channel is selected. Status LEDs on the receiver indicate whether the signal is overloading and whether there is an active connection. If you use rechargeable batteries for the handheld transmitter, you can place these directly in the, separately available, AKG CU400 twin charger. It then directly starts charging the batteries, so that you are always assured of charged transmitters.
