The EW-D SKM-S Base Set by Sennheiser offers freedom - pure and simple. Not just because it gets rid of cables for you, but because you're free to pick to from a large pool of different compatible wireless microphones. There's no microphone included as standard, but Sennheiser offer various optional microphone capsules that can be connected to the included EW-D SKM-S transmitter. Digital Precision

The 'D' in EW-D represents digital, which in this case means advanced digital technology that's able to very efficiently divide up the frequency spectrum. As such, even when using multiple EW-D systems at the same time, there's minimum interference, excellent AD-DA conversion and a huge dynamic range. The noise floor is far out of reach as well, so vocalists needn't fear their vocals distorting when singing all-out.

Put A Sound Engineer on Your Smartphone

Sennheiser have outfitted the EW-D EM receiver with a bright display and an intuitive menu-structure, but where things get really interesting, is with the EW D Smart Assist app. This handy app keeps you up to date with signal strength and battery status but also allows you to manage the frequency spectrum which is great whenever you're using multiple systems at the same time. While that may sound complex, the set-up process is practically automatic and largely based on useful presets. Wrote the following about Sennheiser EW-D SKM-S Base Set R1-6 Wireless Handheld Microphone, exc. Capsule (520 - 576 MHz)

Na lange tijd tevreden gebruik van mijn vorige Sennheiser D1 systeem, was ik op zoek naar een upgrade naar een ander digitaal systeem en kwam ik uit bij de Sennheiser EW-D SKM-S Base Set R1-6. Mijn keuze viel op deze set zonder kop, omdat ik mijn eigen voorkeur heb voor een andere microfoonkop. In mijn geval heb ik de EW-D SKM-S gecombineerd met de 945 kop, en de combinatie is werkelijk fantastisch.

De bouwkwaliteit van deze microfoon is echt top. De microfoon ligt prima in de hand en voelt solide aan. De mute schakelaar is goed geplaatst en stevig, wat voorkomt dat je hem per ongeluk activeert. De scanfunctionaliteit van de microfoon is ook een pluspunt: je kunt met een druk op de knop de frequenties scannen en synchroniseren met de ontvanger. Het ontbreken van een display op de microfoon vind ik geen probleem; alles wordt overzichtelijk beheerd via de ontvanger.

Wat me vooral heeft verrast, is de automatische scanfunctie. Tijdens optredens waar meerdere draadloze systemen in gebruik zijn, druk je simpelweg op de scan knop op de ontvanger en vervolgens synchroniseer je de microfoon. Binnen twee seconden heb je een vrije frequentie gevonden. Dit maakt het instellen en beheren van je apparatuur een stuk eenvoudiger en betrouwbaarder.

Kortom, de Sennheiser EW-D SKM-S Base Set R1-6 is een uitstekende keuze voor iedereen die op zoek is naar een betrouwbare en gebruiksvriendelijke draadloze handheld microfoon. De digitale technologie en de robuuste bouwkwaliteit maken deze microfoon TOP!
