General

The dB Technologies LVX 8 is a compact active speaker that's equipped with a digital amplifier for 400 watts of continual power. The speakers in this series have been designed so that the audio characteristics are linear, which means regardless of the musical style or genre, this speaker will provide an optimal performance. The LVX 8 is equipped with an 8-inch woofer for the low and mid-range and a 1-inch tweeter for the high frequencies.

LVX 8: Digipro amplifier

This active speaker is powered by a digital Digipro amplifier that delivers 400 watts in utter silence thanks to its convection cooling instead of a noisy fan. What's more, the LVX 8 is equipped with a processor that controls and adjusts crossover frequency, the frequency response, the peak filter, and the thermal filter, among other things. Using the button on the rear, you can select either the Flat or Processed preset for the right sound in any given situation.

Design of the LVX 8

This dB Technologies speaker has a 12mm-thick plywood housing with a black, scratch-proof coating. The woofer is protected by a metal grille, which means this little powerhouse is able to withstand the a life on the. On top of the LVX 8, there's a handle for easy manageability and underneath, there's a 35mm flange for mounting on a stand. If you want to use this 8-inch speaker in a fixed installation, the M8 rigging points are sure to come in handy. Finally, the cabinet has a slanted edge so it can also be used as a floor monitor. The tweeter is rotatable, so you can position it for an ideal dispersion of the high-range.

Wrote the following about dB Technologies LVX 8 active 8-inch speaker

Prima speaker. Gebruik ze als podiummonitor. Deze zijn door de kleine woofer niet echt geschikt om laag te gaan blazen, maar als keyboardmonitor bijvoorbeeld, doen ze het prima. Ook als monitor voor wat spoken word versterking; all good! Compact formaat maakt trouwens dat ik ze ook wel eens in een truss hang als PA voor spraak. Heb ook nog enkele andere types en ook die zijn prima voor de prijs. Zeer tevreden van dB Technologies tout court.
