General
Although the 15-inch speaker was designed to focus on the playback of mids and highs, you still get a good, healthy dose of bass. The frequency range is from 49 Hz to 20 kHz, which is almost the same size as the DXS subwoofers! Once you decide to add some extra subs to these speakers, you can choose from different display modes. You can also choose to boost the highs and let the lows fall away in order to maximize the subwoofer and create harmony.
DXR 15: the most powerful all-rounder in the DXR series
The specifications of the DXR 15 are pretty impressive. The maximum volume that this speaker can produce is no less than 133 dB: almost as loud as an ascending airplane! On the back of the speakers you'll find three different inputs: and XLR in/out, a jack and an RCA. The brightness and angle of the sound can be adjusted depending on what the speakers are being used for. That means the DXR 15 can also serve as a monitor. All in all, this 15-inch active speaker is a pretty special all-rounder for your PA set!

Yamaha is a manufacturer with an enormous scale of high-quality products. When it comes to active speakers, they've had incredible success with the DSR series. Now, Yamaha has developed that successful series into the new DXR/DXS series. These active speakers are available in different sizes and setups so you can pick and choose the components that best fit your needs. Thanks to the 3-channel mixer on the back of the speaker, you can also choose the most optimal end mix.

Ik heb ondertussen al verschillende speakers voor DJ doeleinden gebruikt (12 en 15) maar geen enkele speaker combineerde voordien zo perfect loepzuivere hoge tonen met een vol en strak laag.
Het is verrassend hoe zuiver deze speakers klinken en hoeveel bas ze tegelijk produceren. Het laag blijft tegelijk echt strak zonder boomy te worden.
De DXRs gaan bovendien héél luid zonder te vervormen. Ook als je ze pusht blijven ze kristalhelder klinken.
In deze prijsklase vind je geen gelijke!
Ik kocht er de Yamaha transporthoezen bij. Diegenen die je voor buitengebruik kunt laten zitten. Topkwaliteit en top pasvorm.

Treedt zelf op als solo entertainer, keyboard en zang.
Ik gebruik de DXR15 i.c.m. twee Yamaha MSR800 sub woofers. Grote zalen met 300 mensen voorzien van live muziek geen enkel probleem met deze set.

In de vergelijking had ik veel concurrenten mee genomen: zoals ook de 12 inch DXR, de 15 inch Yamaha ELX, JBL EON615; Mackie SRM650 ; RCF ART-715. Doorslag gaf de Spl van 133; en de overall enthousiaste reviews wereldwijd. Ja, inderdaad; ik heb ze opgeluisterd aangeschaft - iets wat ik normaal niemand zou aanraden.
Ik heb de DXR's aangeschaft in de zomer van 2015, en ongeveer 6 x gebruikt op events. Op een beurs, een kleine bruiloft, en outdoor gigs. Super tevreden over de verschillende input mogelijkheden, doorlussen, mogelijke instellingen. In kleine ruimte heeft de DXR best veel bas dus dan gebruik ik hem vooral zonder de D-contour. Buiten heb je veel volume nodig om bereik van publiek te behouden; maar wat opvalt is dat het geluid dan erg mooi blijft. Ik heb er prachtige Yamaha hoezen bij gekocht.
Het was even een investering, maar ik ga hier erg veel plezier aan beleven. Ik ben blij achteraf dat ik toch net even wat meer geld heb uitgegeven.
