Broadcasting engineers have been practically begging Allen & Heath for an improved version of the popular XB-14, a compact radio/broadcasting mixer. The enhanced, versatile XB-14 MKII can be used in small broadcasting stations as well as larger studios with multiple rooms. Improvements include a special Audition bus, improved stereo channel configurations, an updated microphone preamp and additional versatile monitoring options. The device itself features a matte finish that stops light reflecting on it, which is ideal in brightly lit studios.

XB-14 MKII: Telco channels and high-pass/low-pass filters

The Allen & Heath XB-14 MKII is a versatile, innovative solution for all-round applications that require high quality. This radio mixer features two Telco channels for live phone calls and is also fitted with an automatic microphone fader that recognises external connection and automatically mutes internal audio. New high-pass/low-pass filters have replaced the original Telco EQ, making this function more user-friendly. The audio quality of phone calls is better maintained, as certain frequencies are excluded. Improved preamps with a low-noise design are also featured. Via the multiple headphone outputs, you can provide your radio presenter and sound engineer with an optimal monitoring sound.

Special Audition bus

The XB-14 MKII has a special audio bus, which allows you to record items during your radio broadcast for later transmission. You can also pre-listen to the broadcast, to more accurately gauge the remaining time. The USB connector allows you to connect the XB-14 MKII to your computer, after which you can use specific audio software for broadcasting applications.
