General

With the MGP series, Yamaha presents an analogue mixer series equipped with many handy functions that consistently work to maintain optimal sound quality. This is realised through high-quality speakers, one-knob compressors, top-notch equalizers and even a special Stereo Hybrid channel for audio optimisation. All of this is packed into a compact construction that can be easily mounted in a 19-inch rack!

Maintaining audio quality with the MGP16X

The MGP16X is equipped with excellent class A D-PRE mic preamps. These ensure optimal multi-layer signal recording, for the generation of optimal volume and dynamics. A one-knob compressor is also directly at your disposal, and works to minimise peaks as much as possible without negatively influencing dynamics from the signal. Conversely, there are also different signal sources that have too much dynamic range, for example CDs or MP3s from an audio source that have tracks with differing volumes. With the use of the Stereo Hybrid channels with a Leveler function, these dynamics can be reeled in to a consistent level. This means no more volume differences! The Stereo Hybrid also has a function on board called the Priority Ducker. Thanks to intelligent audio analysis, when you speak into a microphone the Audio Ducker will automatically dampen the background music channel.

Road-proof mixer construction

Mixer functions aren't everything though; as the heart of your installation, your mixer needs to be dependable and sturdy. That's why Yamaha has chosen a steel chassis with integrated rack mounts, making it easy to mount your mixer in a flight case during transport. The Yamaha MGP16X is thus ideal for mobile applications--even and especially the rough ones!
