General
The Yamaha MG12XU is a great-sounding compact 12-channel analogue mixer with a built-in SPX multi-effect unit and a USB interface. It has four mono channels with an XLR / jack combo connection, two mono / stereo channels and two stereo channels. Every channels is equipped with a 3-band equalizer, with parametric midrange on the first eight channels. These channels also feature a one-knob compressor and a Class A D-PRE preamplifier with phantom power.
MG12X: USB Interface
The Yamaha MG12X doubles as a 2-in / 2-out USB interface with a maximal recording resolution of 24-bit / 192 kHz. By linking this device to your PC or Mac you can get started with recording right away. Sound can also be sent from your PC to the mixer, and it will come in on channels 11-12. This, of course, makes the MG12XU excellent for use in your home studio.
XU Models and SPX Multi-Effects
The MG series by Yamaha is incredibly comprehensive. Something unique to the XU models is that they're equipped with SPX effects. The multi-effects from this series can be found in many reputable studios and are of very high quality, and include chorus, flanger, distortion, reverb and delay, which can all easily be accessed with the preset button.

Excellent mixer - great functionality but very intuitive to use - barely needed to consult the manual (which is good, as the manual would be my only criticism: one of those that endeavours to cover multiple different products and doesn't quite succeed). Audio connections and setup could not be more straightforward, and immediately connected to Ableton Live on my PC via USB with no setup/drivers/downloads required - refreshing!
Perfect for a home studio, and given how robust it feels, I'd imaging it to be equally ideal for live use.
Strongly recommend.

Deze vervangt mijn goeie ouwe MG124. Gebruik hem als aanvulling op mijn DJ set voor kleine privé feesten. Ruim voldoende aansluitingen in een compact en overzichtelijk toestel. Ook de klankkwaliteit is heel goed.

Zoals Peter hieronder schrijft, een hele fijne mixer met één GROOT probleem! Ik heb de mixer nu 3 jaar in bezit, en opeens doet zich het bekende PFL probleem voor bij deze mixer. Hierdoor is de mixer niet betrouwbaar meer. Het feit dat dit probleem zich voordoet bij een groot aantal gebruikers zegt genoeg: NIET kopen! Je koopt een ondeugdelijk product.

Lijkt een fijne mixer, maarrrrr let op: er zijn known issues met deze mixer. Google maar op "mg12xu pfl issues". Er zijn onvoorspelbare momenten waarin deze mixer spontaan in een soort spook-modus geraakt waarin het PFL lampje gaat knipperen zonder dat je werkelijk aan het voorluisteren bent en je de main out niet meer hoort. Dit maakt de mixer onbetrouwbaar en feitelijk onbruikbaar. Een gewaarschuwd mens telt voor 2. Ik heb zelf precies dat probleem. Bij sommige gebruikers treedt het op direct na aanschaf. Bij mij heeft het langer geduurd. Dit product zou eigenlijk niet verkocht mogen worden zonder deze informatie.

Ik heb een keyboard met een actieve speakerset. Ik heb nu deze mixer er tussen gezet en kan nu ook mijn gitaar en microfoons op dezelfde speakerset gebruiken. Als je je even verdiept, is de bediening overzichtelijk en gemakkelijk. Effecten zijn een prima extra en de compressors werken ook goed.
Een aanrader als je het geluid goed wilt afregelen.

Zeer goed klinkende mixer/audio interface met meer dan voldoende instelmogelijkheden. Ik gebruik hem voor YouTube doeleinden met meerdere microfoons en het luisteren van muziek als ik video's aan het editen ben.
Onder Windows 10 heb ik wel eens audio drop outs, maar dit is nu helemaal opgelost door eerst de mixer aan te zetten en daarna pas de pc op te starten. Sindsdien zijn alle problemen opgelost.
Heerlijke sliders die kwaliteit uitstralen en ook zo aanvoelen, de Mic preamps klinken fantastisch en tijdens het livestreamen geeft de mixer ook geen problemen.

Table de mixage performante. Une fois qu'on a compris que brancher et comment le faire, rien à dire de négatif. Le son est clair, les possibilités de règlage et la qualité du matériel: Que du bonheur. On peut y connecter ordi, platines cd, controleur, enregistreur multipistes...
Le seul blème pour moi, c'est que Yamaha ne fourni que les drivers pour Windows 10 et pas vista!
Je ne peux pas regretter cet achat, en plus, l'équipe de Bax est disponible et compétente!!!
A vos deniers si vous êtes musicien ou bidouilleur.
