General

The Yamaha MG12XU is a great-sounding compact 12-channel analogue mixer with a built-in SPX multi-effect unit and a USB interface. It has four mono channels with an XLR / jack combo connection, two mono / stereo channels and two stereo channels. Every channels is equipped with a 3-band equalizer, with parametric midrange on the first eight channels. These channels also feature a one-knob compressor and a Class A D-PRE preamplifier with phantom power.

MG12X: USB Interface

The Yamaha MG12X doubles as a 2-in / 2-out USB interface with a maximal recording resolution of 24-bit / 192 kHz. By linking this device to your PC or Mac you can get started with recording right away. Sound can also be sent from your PC to the mixer, and it will come in on channels 11-12. This, of course, makes the MG12XU excellent for use in your home studio.

XU Models and SPX Multi-Effects

The MG series by Yamaha is incredibly comprehensive. Something unique to the XU models is that they're equipped with SPX effects. The multi-effects from this series can be found in many reputable studios and are of very high quality, and include chorus, flanger, distortion, reverb and delay, which can all easily be accessed with the preset button.
