Walrus Audio and math rock guitarist Yvette Young present the Qi Etherealizer: a stereo FX processor that wields chorus, delay, reverb and granular effects, plus 127 MIDI presets, tap tempo, and other tools for creating unique soundscapes. Play around with the mix (series) and dry (parallel) control to mash up the various effects and shape the same kind of modern textures Young is known for as part of the band she fronts, Covet. From a subtle chorus combined with delay to more wild-and-glitchy effects, this ultra-versatile stompbox opens up countless options for creative tone-tinkerers.

The Qi Etherealizer: Lush, Glitchy and Rhythmic Textures

The Qi Etherealizer has been fitted out with a decent number of knobs and switches, giving you full hands-on control over the sound. After dialling in the sound you're after, you can save it to one of three preset slots and quickly recall it when needed. If you plug in a matching pedal via the MIDI ports, you can even manage up to 127 presets. Tweak the Space pot to summon lush reverb, turn the Tone pot to sculpt the overall sound and then polish things off with the low-pass filter for synth-like vibes. Or you can activate the Grain Cloud and create unpredictable glitches before tweaking the density via the X control. For those more spatially-oriented modulation effects, you can turn to the built-in delay and chorus effects as well as the control-based features: tap-tempo, reverb-freeze and delay-oscillation.

Cortex M7 Processor for Advanced Audio Processing

The Walrus Audio Qi Etherealizer is based on the MDSP platform and is powered by a Cortex M7 processor, which not only offers advanced audio processing but an ocean of headroom, supporting the complex algorithms demanded by Young-style math-rock. Wat een fantastisch ding is dit! Het is heel logisch opgebouwd met 4 kolommen van rechts naar links (chorus, delay, grain en reverb) die je zowel in serie als parallel kunt schakelen. Ondanks de zeer rijke en soms overweldigende sounds, raak je nooit de weg kwijt en kun je makkelijk en snel bijsturen naar een werkende sound. Ik gebruik het na mijn Tonex one en volume pedaal. Nu ben ik aan het stoeien met de midi aansturing vanaf de Hotone ampero control. De QI maakt mijn soms wat kille geluid uit de Tonex heel warm en muzikaal. Hoge kwaliteit converters en componenten. Ik heb veel vooronderzoek gedaan naar dit ding en het is een waardige (betere) vervanger van mijn vorige churus, delay pedalen die ook al goed waren). Snelle levering en top service van BAX. Blij mee!

En niet te vergwten heeft ie ook nog midi in en uit.Als je een zeer muzikaal klinkend en makkelijk te bedienen ambient powerhouse pedaal zoekt dat makkelijk te bedienen is dan is dit het pedaal wat je zoekt. Heeft inmiddels de plaats op mijn pedalboard overgenomen van een Hologram Microcosm en dat is niet niks.
