Orange OB1-300 black bass guitar amp combo

General

Orange's OB1-300 amp head was already successful, and now it's available together with a cabinet as a combo. This sleek black bass guitar amplifier is a good move on Orange's part - the foundation of the head hasn't changed, but it's been equipped with a 15-inch neodymium Eminence speaker. It doesn't get much easier than this. Orange integrated the bi-amp principle into this combo, which means it contains both a guitar amp and a bass amp and splits your signal in two.

Mix it up

All Orange amp controls have illustrations to depict their function, and the OB1-300 is no exception. Besides the standard volume, gain and tone knobs, this combo has a knob with a drawing of kitchen blender above it, which can be used to mix the bi-amps into a delicious smoothie of sounds. Use it to adjust the amount of overdrive you want on your clean sound, depending on how much gain you're using. This way, you can mix clear, tight lows with harmonic high tones using just one amp and one bass.

Black beast

This 300-watt amp can be used in combination with a foot switch in blend mode, and features a few more practical connectors. First of all, it has an active/passive switch next to the input that automatically adjusts the input volume, handy for bassists with an active instrument. A 3-band EQ (bass, middle, treble) enables you to adjust the various frequencies, with or without gain. On the rear of the OB1-300, you'll find a balanced output (3-pin XLR), a line out and an extra speaker output. To top it all off, its modest size makes it easy to transport!
