General

Peavey drop the Vypyr X2: a 40-Watt modelling amp combo made for electric and acoustic guitarists and bassists with a preference for an intuitive lay-out and enough options to shape a royal variety of sounds. In addition to 36 amplifiers (12 of which are for bass or acoustic guitar in a 6/6 split), the Vypyr X2 offers a dedicated instrument modelling section where you get the pick of synth-style, sitar-like and even 12-string emulations, perfect in case you ever need a fresh approach to your tone.

The Vypyr X2: More Than Enough to Choose From

On top of what's already been mentioned, Peavey have stuffed 25 effects into the amp, 12 of which were inspired by stompboxes. Feel free to use a maximum of five effects at the same time, tweak the reverb and/or delay with the tap-tempo as needed, or use the built-in 30-second looper combined with a Sanpera footswitch (not included) to sculpt multi-layered sound. Once you find a sound you like, you can simply save it to one of sixteen available preset slots.

Rich Valve Tone and Effortless Tweaks

The Vypyr X2 also features patented analogue TransTube technology for tube-style distortion, allowing players to add a little vintage grit to their sound while the 'What You See Is What You Get' control layout guarantees fuss-free tone tweaking. To finish, Peavey have equipped the combo with a USB 3.0 port for audio recording and control via the VYPYR edit software for PC/Mac; a headphone jack for silent late-night practice sessions; and Bluetooth for wireless audio streaming and optional remote control via the dedicated iOS app.
