Need an amp that's powerful and versatile enough so you can play your electric, your acoustic or your bass guitar during gigs and rehearsals? Meet the 100W-strong Peavey Vypyr X3. In addition to electric guitar amps, this modelling amp combo comes loaded with six bass amps and six acoustic amps for a total of 36 amplifier models. Got nothing but a guitar but still want to use all of the sounds? Or need the sound of a 12-string or a sitar every now and then? That's exactly where the instrument modelling section of the Vypyr X3 comes in.

The Vypyr X3: TransTube Distortion and Up To 25 Effects

For more fiery tone injected with analogue, valve-style distortion, this Vypyr naturally features Peavey's patented TransTube technology. Not only that, the combo offers up to 25 effects, where the 11 on-board versions and 12 stompbox variants are easy to tweak via two parameters before adding an overall delay or reverb effect with tap tempo options. Whatever you do, you can always activate up to five effects at the same time and assign your favourite guitar or bass sounds to one of the 400 user presets.

USB 3.0, Bluetooth and a Special PowerSponge Pot

The Vypyr X3 can also be hooked up to a computer via the fitted USB 3.0 port for DAW recording via Mac or PC, or you can install the VYPYR editing software and to go town tweaking your sounds. The amp even supports wireless streaming and iOS app control via Bluetooth, but has also been outfitted with a classic mini-jack AUX input and a headphone jack. Lastly, Peavey have integrated their special PowerSponge pot so you can limit the power output for quieter practice sessions at night.

Wrote the following about Peavey Vypyr X3 100W Modelling Amplifier Combo

Un bon ampli à modélisation mais pas pour tout le monde !!! Les points positifs sont:
La puissance ajustable de l’ampli de 1 à 100W.
La qualité des émulations et des effets.
La possibilité de piloter l’ampli avec un pédalier midi, c’est mon cas!
La possibilité de jouer de la basse ou de l’électroacoustique avec le même ampli en ayant toujours un son de qualité.
Maintenant les points négatifs :
L’application clairement pas au niveau de la concurrence !!! Marshall, Line6 ou NuX proposent de bien meilleur appli. Exemple, les canaux Lead et Clean sont inversés sur tous les amplis !
Les réglages d’usines sont exagérés à l’extrême et donc inexploitables ! Tout est trop… trop fort, le volume des amplis va jusqu’à 120 ou 130 / trop de gain et là aussi les amplis vont jusqu’à 120 ou 130…
Vous aurez compris que vous devez régler vous-même vos presets !
Conclusion
Si tu aimes le gros son et les amplis de la marque et que tu es prêt à passer du temps sur tes réglages alors fonce ! Je possède une tête 6505 et avec la simulation je retrouve le son de celle-ci… Pour celui qui cherche à avoir beaucoup de simulations d’amplis Fender, Marshall… et tous le reste ou le musicien qui veut tout gérer via une application ergonomique alors je conseille de voir la concurrence !
Me concernant j’en suis content puisque j’aime les amplis high gain de la marque que je peux le piloter en midi et jouer pas trop fort à la maison et disposer de 100W en condition. Il sonne bien (quand il est réglé !!!) et permet de passer à la basse si besoin.

Ampli à modélisation INCROYABLE !! Même si les autres marques sont très bien ( Boss Katana, Line 6 Catalyst,etc...) jamais entendu des basses aussi monstrueuses !(en étouffé corde Mi grave par exemple, d'ailleurs on peu carrément jouer de la basse dessus)! Y a des sons en mémoire qui sont magnifiques mais l'idéal reste de les modéliser et mémoriser soit même car certains sons sont enregistrés avec les effets un peu trop appuyés. C'est vrai que les potards restent ,comme l'ancienne génération, un peu cheap et vaut mieux investir dans le pédalier Peavey Sampera d'origine pour éviter de trop les fatiguer mais à part ça, il peut tout faire ! Pour les hardeux, le modèle d'apmli XXX est probablement le plus réaliste (et Classic 50 pour les sons clairs) et toujours cette possibilité de régler la puissance de 1w à 100w (je le met en 50w en maison c'est idéal)! Franchement je l'adore ! Heureusement que Bax Music est là parce que la marque Peavey est très mal distribuée en Europe, j'ignore pourquoi. En tout cas vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés !!
