Yamaha offers the 01V96i as a digital PA mixer with superb engineering that brings mixing and recording to the highest level. It's not hard to believe, because Yamaha has manufactured many of the leading digital PA mixers. This 01V96i is perfect for use in the studio as well as live performances. Mixing and recording will be a piece of cake, because the 01V96i is packing serious technological strength concealed in digital form, keeping it compact and manageable.
Inputs, editing, and outputs on the 01V96i
The 01V96i is the successor of the 01V96VCM, which means it has the same inputs, editing, and outputs, but with new essential parts on board offering a new level of ease for every sound tech. Thanks to the digital setup, it is possible to edit audio settings via a display. No more rows full of confusing rotaries, but instead a clear display with all of the settings you want to view for each channel. Because of this, motorized faders can now easily take up a little more room, which improves accuracy. The 01V96i has a total of 24 inputs of which 8 are digital, making it well-suited for mixing and recording smaller bands that can use a fair number of microphones and other signal sources. High-quality preamplifiers guarantee preservation of sound quality. Subsequently, if desired, the signal can be put through the Virtual Circuit Modeling by way of DSP effects. In such a way you get a master strip, channel strip, vintage stomp FX and REV-X reverb on your display. After you've made your end mix, it's easy to send the signal via a PA.
Digital exporting via USB
If the signal is edited and re-edited to digital format anyway, it's silly not to make more use of it. All the more reason for Yamaha to make a USB audio-interface that supports 16 inputs and outputs with a 96kHz sample frequency via USB 2.0. This quality is more than sufficient for CD recordings and the like. Additionally, the 01V96i can be used as a DAW controller. A version of Steinberg's Cubase AI is thus included so you can start recording right away.

The Yamaha operating system is somewhat complex, but ultimately when you set the console up and store some presets, it's excellent.
Another thing to mention is the eq and effects. The eq sounds very good and has no nasty side eff cuts are very good especially the X-verb. The plate is wonderful and as good as many external hardware units.
If you are looking for a digital desk and interface, look no further.

Ik gebruik de mixer live en in een home studio icm een HD24.
Ik heb een extra dubbele ADAT kaart geplaatst waardoor ik met twee ADAT preamps aan 32 kanalen zit. Live geeft dat veel mogelijkheden alhoewel je wel goed moet opletten in welke 'layer'' je aan het schuiven bent.
Bij grote band's is het handig vooraf goed te weten wat je gaat doen. Ik programmeer dan ook aan de hand van de priklijst de mixer. De routing, effecten en de basis eq instellingen staan dan alvast klaar.
Als je met deze mixer goed kan omgaan is het een ideaal apparaat. Geen effectenrack meer mee slepen en een klank die staat als een huis. Helder, dynamisch zoals ik dat van Yamaha gewend ben! Top mixer volgens oud recept maar niet te overtreffen voor dit bedrag.

Ik gebruik de 01V voor oefenen met band, opname (Pro Tools 10) en voor algemeen gebruik. Mixer doet wat beloofd wordt.
Prima geluidskwaliteit.
Enige minpuntje is de grootte van het scherm - even wennen.
