This nerdy little compact synth has both unexpected power and style!
Characteristics of the Teenage Engineering PO-12
The PO-12 Rhythm is a miniature drum machine with an exceptional design, fitted with a 16-step sequencer and offers 16 different sounds that draw on both samples and synthesis, offering the best of both worlds. It's possible to create various patterns and to adjust the BPM rate, and an effect processor enables you to spice up your grooves.
Pocket Operators
Like all Teenage Engineering products, the TE Pocket Operators offer a blend of stylishly geeky looks, remarkable functionality and awesome visuals - the animated display of this PO-12 Rhythm drum machine features a nifty little sowing machine, for instance. In essence, the PO-12 is nothing more than a circuit board with a number of components, but Teenage Engineering has managed to add a built-in speaker, an alarm clock and a 3.5mm line in/out to the design. The micro synth is powered by 2 AAA batteries and is made for your pocket.

Wanneer ik de Teenage Engineering PO-12 pocket operator rhythm bovenhaal onder vrienden is de eerste reactie steeds hoongelach. Het duurt meestal echter niet lang alvorens ze het toestelletje uit elkaars handen trekken om zelf ook een leuke beat te maken. Ideaal dus om je in groep mee te amuseren.
Maar daarnaast heb ik er ook al geruime tijd alleen mee gespendeerd. De sounds zijn misschien niet van de kwaliteit om echte muziek op te nemen, het toestel slaagt er wel in inspiratie los te weken voor volwaardige beats en songs.
Iedereen die wil beginnen met drumcomputers of synthesizers kan wel een geschikte PO gebruiken om eraan te starten!
Maar daarnaast heb ik er ook al geruime tijd alleen mee gespendeerd. De sounds zijn misschien niet van de kwaliteit om echte muziek op te nemen, het toestel slaagt er wel in inspiratie los te weken voor volwaardige beats en songs.
Iedereen die wil beginnen met drumcomputers of synthesizers kan wel een geschikte PO gebruiken om eraan te starten!

Voor deze prijs is dit een hele leuke manier om kennis te maken met drum machines. Door middel van de menu's aan de boven- en zijkanten heeft hij veel meer functies dan je in de eerste instantie zou vermoeden. Om hem mee te nemen naar buiten is het zeer aan te raden om een hoesje te kopen, maar die zijn erg duur en het voelt daarmee als een nare verplichting. Daarom 4 van de 5 sterren.

Een enorm inspirerende manier van werken. De mogelijkheid om beat repeats te spelen is aanwezig maar een beetje verstopt.
Je zou verwachten dat de sounds aan deze prijs niet veel voorstellen, maar niets is minder waar.
Bezit niet te mogelijkheid om drums uit te wisselen zoals de tonic en heeft geen choke groups.
Toch zou ik zeggen dat beide in je arsenaal dienen te steken als je van de POs houdt.
